Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Oulu

Arrival: Welcome to the Capital of Northern Scandinavia! Your driver will meet you at the arrivals hall in Oulu Airport with a name sign.

Transfer: Take the short drive to your centrally located hotel.

Free Time: After checking in, take a walk to the famous Toripolliisi (Market Square Policeman) statue or enjoy dinner at one of the renovated salt warehouses turned into restaurants.

Day 2: Tastes & Trails of Oulu

Walking Food Tour: Discover the city through your taste buds. This 2.5-hour private walking tour takes you through the history of Oulu while stopping to taste local delicacies. You will visit the Market Hall and learn why Oulu is known for its salmon and “rössypottu.”

Cultural Bike Tour: Oulu is the winter cycling capital of the world, and in summer, it is a cyclist’s paradise. Join a guided 2.5-hour bike tour along the beautiful river delta and island bridges. The route is flat, easy, and incredibly scenic.

Day 3: Hailuoto Island Day Trip

Island Escape: Today’s route leads to Hailuoto, a distinctive island in the Bothnian Bay, where the spirit of old fishing villages remains part of everyday life. (Duration: 6-7 hours)

The Experience: A private driver/guide will take you across the ferry to the island. You will explore the historic Marjaniemi Lighthouse, walk on the sandy dunes, and see the traditional red fishing huts. The island’s unique nature is a National Landscape of Finland.
